Giovanni Rosiello's Journal #5

27th, January, anno Domini nostri Iesu Christi 1651

It is the morning after the occurrence. What? I don’t understand. I don’t remember. I thought it a dream but it was not. I had to scrub in the bath water so much. There is a broken door that needs repaired. I hope Mr. Russo can help. He doesn’t ask many questions. God Almighty, what have I done to deserve this? God have mercy upon my soul.

3rd, February, anno Domini nostri Iesu Christi 1651

I am growing accustomed to these new feelings. I don’t feel ill. I feel good. Great. God has answered my prayers. I was a fool. I questioned God’s plan and everything is alright now. My wife thinks we have been blessed with a child! And she has also discovered a kitten that we have taken into our home. The Lord has saved me!

4th, March, anno Domini nostri Iesu Christi 1651

Mr. Russo has repaired the door! God’s Light upon us all. The Bishop has also seen fit to give me more responsibility. For that I am thankful. My wife is indeed with child! The Lord has blessed us with a little one. We shall bask in His Holy Light and I will give my thanks for His blessing. I have found the kitten brings unwanted tears to my eyes and itching. I do not know why. The Santa Chiara will have a new visitor coming next month to stay. I am making preparations for his arrival. I am thankful for the blessings upon me.
