Is it just me, or does it constantly seem like the world is falling apart? Wars, natural disasters, disease, famine, murder, poverty—the list goes on and on.

It's not new.

It's always been that way.

With all of the insanity around us 24x7, it's important to take a breath, find some way to take a break from all the crazy, and take a minute to remember that bananas don't have memories.

Take these bananas, for instance:

A bunch of bananas next to a giant wooden spoon.
These bananas don't remember that time when I ordered a wooden cooking spoon from Amazon and got sent a two-foot-long monstrosity. Those aren't tiny bananas—that's a huge ass spoon.

I'm not going to point fingers at anything in particular over this past week because I'm sure everyone out there has at least one thing that stands out as memorable in a bad way, whether from the news or your own life. We'll leave it at that, and I'll leave this fitting song on YouTube for your listening pleasure.

If you happened to find yourself being a banana one day—I mean existentially—I don't think you'd even realize the situation you were in because even if you were self-aware, you wouldn't have a memory to use to reflect.

The world is crazy.

It's a thing.

We all live surrounded by absolute insanity.

It's always been like that.

Don't go bananas.

What's New?

  • It's been an interesting week of progress on a super secret literary-related project I've been working on, and if I told you anything about it, it wouldn't be a secret.
  • Next Week: Desecrated mummies in Ireland make for restless spirits.
