Two-Sentence Horror: Nightly Hunt

I love the idea of two-sentence horror. But, it's more than that, though. I love the idea of experimenting with concise fiction—how far can a story be trimmed down and still have a scare to it? It's an interesting type of flash fiction that cuts right to the core of a story.

I was thinking about that one night and wrote two sentences about my cat.

My cat wakes me up every night, meowing as she brings a toy into the bedroom after she's "hunted" and "killed" it.

She woke me up just now, but this time—it's not a toy, and it's not dead.
