Whenever I'm writing and get stuck on something, I go for a walk. I'm not sure it's the actual act of walking, but taking breaks every once in a while is necessary. It really does help clear the head. It could be something like spending some time outside, sitting by an open window to listen to the rain, or going to make a hot cup of tea. I've been doing this for as long as I remember, and not just with writing but with anything requiring a certain amount of concentration. What are your breaks like? What do you find to be helpful?
