Planning new fiction projects takes a lot of time and a lot of thought. I think this is something that not many people talk about, and you may not realize just how much time goes into it. For fiction writing, there is a scale that runs from "pantsers" (people who just sit down and write) to "plotters" (who plan things in advance) and everything in between.

There are many methods to get from zero to novel, and each person has a unique take. However, every single one of them, in some form or fashion, plans. Even full-on extreme pantsers—though, it may not be thought of as planning and certainly doesn't resemble the planning that plotters do.

I'm in the middle of the planning process for two different projects.

In other news, I found my spirit anime-gel: Mitsuha Yamano from 'Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement'.

Anime character Mitsuha Yamano from 'Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement' is depicted on a television screen. She has large, expressive blue eyes and dark hair adorned with blue flower hair clips. She's wearing a green outfit and has a serious expression. The subtitle on the screen reads, 'I'll teach them what true despair and fear are.' Behind the TV is a wall with two framed images, one of which resembles a tarot card.

What's New?

  • Planning, planning, planning. I have a running list of a few dozen long-form fiction ideas, and I'm in the planning stages for two of them.
  • Next Week: Vengeful spirits of Ancient Rome.
